Dr. Rachel Foxwell
Having qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in 2012 and worked in the NHS since 2008, I've supported women across a range of ages and backgrounds. I began my career supporting people with life-long and life-limiting physical conditions. These included the treatment of gynaecological and breast cancers, and associated emotional difficulties and side-effects, such as pain and infertility.
I've since branched out into a variety of specialist areas, assisting women with:
Reproductive health, including fertility challenges, baby loss and pregnancy after loss.
Surgical or treatment-induced menopause and subsequent mental health difficulties, including the impact on fertility.
Navigating the transition of perimenopause and menopause.
Challenges with body image.
Psychological assessment before surgery.
The right therapy for you
I work with clients on a case-by-case basis, tailoring my services to their unique circumstances. I aim to find the right fit for their individual needs.
With a focus on meaningful results and positive change, I can provide and adapt the following evidence-based psychological therapies:
Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)
Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT)
Mindfulness based approaches
Compassion focused therapy (CFT)
Eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR)
Each client can expect a warm, compassionate, highly approachable and non-judgmental style. While setting targets is useful, the journey is often as important as the destination.
