Terms and Conditions

  1. Professional standards of practice

Your Clinical Psychologist (Dr Rachel Foxwell) is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and must comply with a range of standards of conduct, performance and ethics in order to maintain her practicing registration (http://www.hpc-uk.org). She is chartered by the British Psychological Society (https://www.bps.org.uk/lists/cpsychol) and abides by their Code of Ethics (https://www.bps.org.uk/news-and-policy/bps-code-ethics-and-conduct) which focuses on four primary ethical principles:

  • Respect

  • Competence

  • Responsibility

  • Integrity

2. Confidentiality

Your Clinical Psychologist will keep all personal information securely and is registered as a data controller with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). Please see the Privacy Policy for more information about how your data is protected.

Your Clinical Psychologist offers the assessment and intervention sessions online using a secure, confidential and reliable video software platform.

The assessment session and any further sessions after are confidential between the psychologist and the client. It is important that during your discussions, you feel you can talk openly with your practitioner and that your right to privacy is protected. This generally means that your practitioner cannot discuss you or your case with any third parties without your consent unless legally bound to do so.

There are, however, some limits to confidentiality:

  • Psychologists regularly present their work in clinical supervision. The aim of this is to monitor and improve the clinical work undertaken. All supervision is done on a confidential basis and only using the client’s initials.

  • At times a psychologist may need to contact the client’s GP or other professional involved. This would normally be done with the client’s permission and would be discussed in the session prior to any contact. However, if the client’s or another person’s safety were severely jeopardised in the practitioner’s view, they may contact the external services without the client’s permission.

  • There are some limits to confidentiality such as Prevention of Terrorism and Drug Trafficking Acts.

  • In a court of law, a psychologist may be required to answer questions about a client.

3. Cancellations

Cancellations for appointments need to be made with more than 48 hours (i.e. 2 working days) notice. Any cancellations made with less than 48 hours (i.e. 2 working days) notice will incur the full charge for the session missed.

4. Anti-discrimination policy

Your Clinical Psychologist values people for their differences and will promote self-worth around any differences that a person may feel have affected them in the past. These may be around their sexual preference or orientation, mental health status, political or religious belief, age, gender or ethnicity.

5. Consent to treatment

6. Payment

Please make the payment for each session at least 48 hours before the scheduled appointment to secure your booked session.
